The Fear Of Rejection....
The fear of being rejected has killed and is killing more dreams, careers, talents and even relationships, more than we imagine. Simple words like ‘no’ and 'sorry', can automatically dim your shine and make you give you.
We have all at a point in our life been afraid of going
after something we wanted because of the fear of being rejected - story of my
life. It is this fear of rejection that is making people do shitty things just
to be accepted these days because rejection can be very hard to deal with. Rejection is even making people commit suicide.
Not being accepted into that school, the un-replied job
applications, the unanswered emails, the rejected job proposals, and love
proposals, not being accepted in a certain society, all that can be very frustrating and
can make you spend days doubting yourself and that low self-esteem sucks.
Imagine working on a project for months, putting in so much effort day and night and then after when you go seeking for sponsorship you keep being given the 'I'm sorry' replies. It can be very frustrating and you would want to give up. It is in frustrating moments like that when we then ask ourselves questions like, “is this
even worth it”, “why am I even stressing myself”, and then just like that, we give up on that dream, skill, talent, love…. The thought of getting rejected makes you not want to try at all.
So the fact is, rejection is a part of life which would have made our life easier if we could deal with it as it comes . We are all bound to face it sometime in life, so as hard as it is to deal with, we just have to keep pushing because, rejection helps us to reevaluate ourselves, work on our skills and look out for better opportunities. Rejection has pushed some people to be at a better place in their life.
Most of the successful people we see today did not just make
it with one attempt, they had to deal with a number of rejections before their
final breakthrough.
So what am I hitting at? I am saying the “nos’’ and the “I'm
sorry’s” will come but at the end of the day, what is important is that we take
it in good faith, learn from it, work on it and bounce back better, and not
give up. The worst thing that can happen is not being rejected but giving up on ourselves.
So we have to constantly remind ourselves of why we started in the first place and not let the fear of rejection hold us back and kill our dreams. But most importantly we have to pray and ask God for the strength to deal with the pain of rejection so that we do not give up.

Rejection is not a “your life has
ended” letter. It is your “better days
ahead” notice, to keep fighting. After all Rome was not built in a day so.... And
someday we will talk of our experiences as success stories to inspire others.
Have you ever been rejected? How did you deal with it? Will you say it has encouraged you to be better? I will be glad to get inspired by some of your experiences.

Always been afraid to give anything a try for that exact reason.Being good enough but not to be what they want or need.
ReplyDeleteAlbert, i really know that feeling. But if you dont try at all you might be missing out on what is yours. Trust me when i say even after rejection, there are better days and better opportunities ahead. So don't let that fear hold you back on your dreams. Try something, and all the best.
